The Jail & Prison Ministry of Alfred Street Baptist Church shares a transforming gospel with those incarcerated at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center (ADC) and the Alexandria Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) to present an opportunity for the power of God to effect a change in their lives.

Alexandria Adult Detention Center (ADC)
The Jail and Prison Ministry conducts a monthly worship service to share the transforming power of Jesus Christ with the men and women in the Alexandria ADC. By sharing the love of Christ, the ministry helps inmates cope with the pressures of being incarcerated and prepare for life beyond the walls of the institution. The ministry also teaches them how to apply biblical truths to their lives and to the lives of their families. The Jail & Prison Ministry follows up with those who accept the invitation to Christian discipleship to let them know they are connected to the body of Christ in spite of their incarceration.

Alexandria Juvenile Detention Center (JDC)
In addition to ministering to men and women who are incarcerated, the Jail and Prison Ministry also shares the Gospel with the youth at the Alexandria JDC. The ministry teaches Sunday School on the first, fourth, and fifth Sunday of each month. The ministry mentors the youth, teaches them about the love of Jesus Christ, and helps to make the gospel relevant to them.

Ministry Vision
The Jail & Prison Ministry plans to expand its service to include support for the children and families of those who are incarcerated as well as aftercare for those who are released. This may include temporary housing, food, clothing, and employment assistance.

2nd Sunday – 9:00am – 10:00am

Sunday School at the Juvenile Detention Center
1st and 4th Sundays – 9:45am – 11:00am
