About the iVote Initiative Throughout the Bible, we are taught the important role of God-fearing individuals to transform the world by being engaged and involved in civic and societal issues. The bible is filled with wonderful imagery of Christ being engaged in issues of social justice, even issues that were, for the religious leaders of the time, taboo and off-limits. Our engagement in this voter registration effort is our attempt, here at Alfred Street Baptist Church, to follow Christ's example of being transformative Christians whose influence and reach span far beyond the four walls of the church. Alfred Street Baptist Church does not seek to become advocates for any political party or perspective; we do, however, hope to inspire members of our church and the surrounding community to embrace Jesus' call to be salt and light by adding there voices to so many others seeking "to do justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly with God ( Micah 6:8)
